2010 US Census

Have you seen these commercials talking about how great the census is? Take a look:

Why is my government spending money on airing advertisements for something as mundane as a census? Listen carefully. You'll hear the reason plain as day. It's about solidifying the federal government's control over every aspect of our lives. It's ultimately about Tyranny [defined as: arbitrary or unrestrained exercise of power; despotic abuse of authority].

The phrase "fair share" with respect to federal money is featured prominently in these commercials. Other phrases include "we can't move forward until you mail it back"; "first step towards a happier, healthier community"; "if we don't know how many kids there are, how do we know how many classrooms we need?"

Some of the PSAs feature prominent citizens. Miss America says: "Like you and everyone else living in our great country, we are the people and we all count". Just by virtue of living here we all count? Do I need to point out the implications? Couple this with Donny Osmond's PSA where he mentions "representation in congress" and now you are getting to the point. Personally, if I were illegal I would be very suspicious of filling out a census considering the fact that the US Census Bureau now knows where my front door is within about 6 feet. What? you weren't aware that the USCB took a GPS reading at each and every dwelling in the country? Can I scream "TYRANNY!" any louder?

The recurring themes that the census "...helps us know exactly what we need..." and that it will "...help your community get what it needs for the next 10 years..." should give pause to any liberty-minded individual. The intimations here are that our schools, our roads, our hospitals and our communities all depend on the federal census.

The giant money-colored carrot on a stick is simply sickening. They keep talking about our "needs" but really are only referring to money. Whose money? Where did that money come from? What constitutes "fair share"? Would it be fair to say that in this context, the encouragement to grab your fair share is essentially a threat to keep it from you if you do not do as they say?

Thomas Jefferson once said: "I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them." Here' a SAT question: If happiness was predicted by doing the exact opposite of what we are facing now, then what can be predicted about where our current state of affairs is leading us?

All the pieces are in place right now for a jack-booted squad to come goose-stepping into our neighborhoods and round up the rabblerousers to send them to reeducation camps. To take our children from us in the name of protecting them from their parents who believe the wrong things. To censor the airwaves in the name of fairness. To force us what to eat. You name it.

They now have us all sucking on the teat of the bloated federal nanny-pig. We as a nation have become addicted, apathetic and atrophied. The bitter milk will become our embalming fluid.
